SAINT-SAMSON CATHEDRAL

If there is an element that is seen more than the others, it is the Cathedral of Saint Samson and its double well. Because it is rare to find such a building in a small town, one can ask the question of the historical charge of this one. Well, you will discover among other things that Dol-de-Bretagne was once the religious capital of Brittany.

The Menhir of the Dolent field

With a size of 9,30 m, the menhir of Champ Dolent, this neolithic vestige is still standing… A legend affirms that it would have been erected to separate the armies of two people who were unaware of each other…

The Mont-Dol offers a view of the Mont Saint-Michel and Tombelaine to those who want it.

The most athletic can do it on foot. While it was a granite quarry since the Middle Ages, the site is now protected.

Mont Dol is also a place where, in the XIXᵉ century, mammoths, cave bears and other rhinoceroses were found. Research has shown that Neanderthals must have hunted big game using the mountain as a vantage point.
